Problem:
GeoSpatial Innovations Inc. was having difficulty marketing their software that helps utility companies streamline their vegetation management. Their old branding was outdated, limited and lacked differentiation from GSI’s other products.

Solution:
I created an updated logo and branding package that would better speak to potential customers and provide a robust framework that could be implemented successfully in a variety of print and digital applications.

Building a Better Forester

Step One

I began with a series of initial sketches to help flush out a logo concept that could distill the Forester product’s functionality in a clear and simple iconography. Forester uses GIS and LiDar to help GSI’s customers track and schedule vegetation management along electrical distribution lines. I focused primarily on simplified forms representing vegetation and distribution poles.

Step Two

I then created digital versions of the most promising concepts to the client for review as well as some sample brand colors for them to choose from.

Step Two

I then created digital versions of the most promising concepts to the client for review as well as some sample brand colors for them to choose from.

Step Three

The client selected logo option 5 combined with color pallet B. From there I built the client a basic brand sheet which outlined the new logo with two lock ups, brand typefaces, image styles and color usage guidelines.

Execution

GSI was please with the results and approved the new brand guidelines without revision. All that was left to do was bring the brand to life by applying it GSI’s social and marketing campaigns.
